Standards for use of mobile-phone on board gas carrier

A liquefied gas cargo may react in a number of ways: with water to form hydrates, with itself, with air, with another cargo or with other materials. In a gas carrier strict rules should be followed for using mobile phones.

(1) The use of Mobile-phones shall be strictly prohibited in areas other than Accommodation.

(2) The use of Mobile-phones may be allowed in accommodation, Nevertheless, it shall be prohibited in the designated areas when the Master so instructs.

(3) Mobile-phones shall be switched off before being taken out of the accommodation
